The KidSport Fund is a children’s charity designed to help children, from age 5-18, overcome financial barriers so they can participate in sport. This Fund assists families in need to register their children in sport programs by providing assistance with registration fee costs.

Sport Equipment - KidSport collects new and used equipment and distributes it to children who cannot afford to purchase their own. Click here for more information and applications on KidSport.

Children's Fitness Tax Credit

If your child was under the age of 16 at any time during the tax year and involved in a program of physical fitness or activity longer than eight weeks, you may be eligible for the Children's Fitness Tax Credit, that was introduced in 2007, for up to $500.

You can also claim payments for child care expenses made for day camps and day sports schools where the primary goal of the camp is to care for children (an institution offering a sports study program is not a sports school); or to boarding schools, overnight sports schools, or camps where lodging is involved.

In either situation, the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) has the authority to determine whether any claim for a credit will be approved.

Please retain your receipts that you receive at the time of registration.
